Black Box Security has been working with HKC equipment for over 10 years. Established in 1977 and based in the North West, Black Box Security is a family-run business, which provides fire and security solutions to commercial, residential, and public sector clients. While at TSE2022, we had a chat with David Barnes, MD of Black Box & ESI, to see what he thinks of HKC.
We cover a wide range of installation projects, and our business has been constantly growing because of the number of customer recommendations we receive. Client reccomendations go a long way, and we’ve successfully developed strong commercial relationships, some of which are over 25 years old.
Our team consists of over 40 installation and service specialists who are experts in their fields. A lot of our experts joined the business as trainees, developing their skills and taking ownership of many clients. All of the team work with HKC’s equipment on a regular basis, so I know that my opinions reflect that of my colleagues too.
We offer a full turnkey solution tailored to all fire and security needs. Working with many different sectors, we provide a dedicated service, and possess all the expert knowledge and specialist equipment needed to combat crime, and prevent fires and other life-threatening risks.
Overall, I’m really impressed with the range of equipment HKC offers. Working with HKC means we have the right products for all types of projects and most scenarios, including lifesafety. The quality of the security devices is superb and the systems offer incredible flexibility for the client.
At Black Box Security, we use both the Quantum 70 and SW 10270 control panels. Both are really reliable products but we have a slight preference towards the SW 10270 because of the increased flexibility it offers during installations.
As an installer, I’m looking for a simple fitting process from security devices that are highly reliable, so our clients are always protected. Our team enjoy using HKC because the installation process is always straightforward, and the wireless products have an exceptional battery life.
HKC’s solutions are user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and cost-effective, especially when you consider how long the products last. The wireless security systems function really well, and the radio signal strength is excellent, meaning the systems are high quality and some of the best on the market.
As a company, we frequently use HKC’s Engineer Software App and SecureComm Cloud solution. The Engineer app has some great functionality and supports ongoing maintenance contracts. Our customer’s really like the SecureComm App and it has helped enable Black Box build a recurring revenue model through maintenance contracts.
In David’s opinion, HKC are a leading manufacturer of wireless security equipment, offering terrific customer service, and a vast choice of equipment and solutions for almost every scenario.
